The M4A3 was the version of the Sherman with the powerful Ford GAA gasoline engine, which the US Army regarded as its preferred home variant. The (76)W designation means a 76 mm high-velocity gun in a T23 turret and so-called wet stowage, in which the ammunition bins are surrounded by an antifreeze liquid to reduce the risk of fire after a hit. The vehicle was widely used in the final battles in Western Europe.
Finish the running gear and the lower hull before you close up the upper parts. For a winter Ardennes scene an olive green base works well, covered with a white winter camouflage that can be rubbed off in places to reveal the color underneath. Washes will bring out the detail and pigments will create mud and dust effects; if you use the wider track extensions, do not forget the snow and mud deposits.
