An accessory set from the Czech brand Black Dog in 1:35 for a model of the German Marder III tank destroyer. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory for it. According to the name the subject is a tarpaulin together with further accessories, that is exactly what the crews of open fighting compartments used to protect themselves and their kit from the weather.
The Marder III was one of the German improvised tank destroyers that came about from an urgent need to get a powerful anti-tank weapon to the front quickly and cheaply. The basis was the proven chassis of a light tank of Czechoslovak origin, on which a superstructure with an anti-tank gun was mounted in place of the turret, protected only by a thin shield. The fighting compartment stayed open at the top, which did give the crew good visibility but no protection against splinters or against rain and frost. That is exactly why tarpaulins, groundsheets and improvised shelters appear so often in period photographs.
A tarpaulin is a textile item and must not read as a piece of sheet metal. A muted base helps, along with fine grading of the tone in the folds and dry brushing in a lighter shade on the raised edges. The open fighting compartment is also easy to see, so it pays to take care that the cargo around the tarpaulin keeps a uniform dusty tone with the rest of the vehicle.
It is an accessory for a model, not a model of the vehicle on its own.
