Mechatro WeGo x Armored Trooper Votoms, Collaboration Series Vol.2 is a pair of plastic kits in 1:35 scale that joins Hasegawa's cute robots with the design of a well-known robot series.
Responsibility details are not available.
In this box Hasegawa has linked two things that would not ordinarily meet: its own range of squat working robots MechatroWeGo and the harsh world of the series about armored troopers. The result is a pair of kits in 1:35 scale - the reworked combat machine Brutishdog and a Didilium capsule to go with it. The parts are molded in color and join by snapping together, so the model holds together even without glue.
The series about armored troopers is among the most influential Japanese robot titles of the 1980s. Its machines are deliberately down to earth - low, dirty and closer to military equipment than to heroic giants. The MechatroWeGo range goes the opposite way: they are chubby working robots with big eyes. Joining the two lines gives a little character that keeps the typical shapes of the subject, but in the rendering of a good-natured machine.
Parts molded in color make it possible to have both pieces finished within a single evening. Anyone who wants more will get the most out of the model with dark emphasis into the engraved lines and a fine dry brush on the edges. With shapes as rounded as these it pays to sand the parting lines carefully and to check them against the light. Set the transparent and otherwise colored small parts aside and fit them only at the very end.
The package is a kit, not a finished figure - you have to assemble the model, and color it if you wish, yourself.
