This set from Voyager Model is a brass photo-etched detail set for a model of the German Leopard 1A3 main battle tank in 1:35 scale. According to the name the set also holds a metal barrel (105 mm) to replace the plastic part. The photo-etched parts refine the grilles, the fenders, the guards and other small items. It is not a kit of the tank but an accessory for a base model.
The product is intended for the Meng TS-007 kit. That is bought separately.
The Leopard 1A3 is a version of the German Leopard 1 main battle tank of the Cold War era. Compared with the older versions it has a welded turret with spaced armor of a newer design. The tank is armed with a British-designed 105mm gun and became known for its good mobility and reliability; it served with the German and other European armies.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife, make the bends over a bending tool or a metal ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, or with two-part epoxy. Degrease the parts before painting and lay down a primer for metal surfaces; it is best to spray the paint with an airbrush so that the fine detail does not get flooded. Fill the gap between the photo-etched part and the plastic with filler.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
