This set from Voyager Model is a basic brass photo-etched detail set for a model of the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle in the version used in South Korean service, in 1:35 scale. It holds fine photo-etched parts for the most visible areas of the model, such as grilles, fenders, brackets and small detail. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory for a base model. The set is intended for the Trumpeter 01533 kit.
The BMP-3 is a modern infantry fighting vehicle of Russian origin, armed with a combination of a 100mm weapon and a 30mm automatic cannon. It is fully amphibious and serves with a number of armies. The South Korean army obtained BMP-3 vehicles in the 1990s; the version in service may differ in equipment and detail.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife, make the bends over a bending tool or a metal ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, or with two-part epoxy. Degrease the parts before painting and lay down a primer for metal surfaces; it is best to spray the paint with an airbrush so that the fine detail does not get flooded. Fill the gap between the photo-etched part and the plastic with filler.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
