Smoke grenade dischargers for the LAV armored vehicle in 1:35 scale are a detail set from E.T. Model. They replace the simplified parts from a kit; the vehicle itself is not part of the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set in 1:35 scale from E.T. Model with smoke grenade dischargers for the modern LAV wheeled armored vehicle in US Marine Corps configuration. The dischargers are clusters of short tubes mounted on the turret or the hull, which fire smoke charges and create a screen that reduces the visibility of the vehicle. This is an accessory for a model you already own, not a kit of the vehicle.
A discharger is simple in shape, but that is exactly why simplification shows on it: plastic tubes tend to be blind, have thick rims, and the mounting frame is molded in one piece with the hull. A separately made part has open tube mouths and fine mounting, so in the silhouette of the vehicle it looks like a real assembly rather than a block glued on. The set therefore suits modelers who are building a vehicle for a show or for a diorama, where the turret is looked at close up.
Check whether the package holds cast resin parts; if it does, wash them in lukewarm water with detergent before gluing, so that the mold release agent disappears, and cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, not with pliers. Sand resin wet and protect your breathing. Bend any photo-etched sections along the score lines and degrease them with alcohol. Glue everything with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic will not bond these materials. Spray a primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Bring out the mouths of the tubes with a dark wash, so that they stay visually open.
This is an accessory detail set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
