A collector's resin figure from the original line of Alternity Miniatures. It is a piece of its own with an artistic subject of its own, not a period military figure. In modeling the 1:35 scale is the most widespread figure and equipment format, so the figure fits without trouble into a scene built around plastic models of equipment, or serves as an exhibit of its own on a base.
Resin manages a finer relief than injected plastic, so even small things such as the folds of the cloth, the buckles or the expression of the face stand out on the figure. The parts tend to be cast with casting blocks and a fine parting line left by the mold, and both have to be removed before painting.
Begin by washing the parts in lukewarm soapy water, as otherwise the remains of the mold release agent will stop the paint anchoring itself. Cut the casting blocks away with a saw and sand the cut surfaces down, ideally wet and with protection of your breathing. A dry test of the joints before gluing saves work with filler. Glue with super glue, fill the gaps with filler and sand them over. After spraying on a thin primer, get to the face, as that decides the overall impression: a base tone of the skin, thin glazes into the shadows, a gentle highlight on the raised places. Seat the pupils into a white base, so that they do not stay too large. Paint the clothing and the equipment with contrast in mind, so that the figure does not merge into one blot, and distinguish the materials by the degree of sheen as well. Finally unify the surface with matte varnish and add a little pigment to the footwear and the lower areas.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
