A decal sheet in 1:35 scale with markings for steel drums of about 200 liters, from the Second World War to the Cold War period.
Responsibility details are not available.
A steel drum is unassuming but indispensable on a diorama. Fuel, oil and water were all carried in one, and drums lay about at every field workshop, refueling point and depot. It is precisely the printing that turns a bare metal container into a recognizable object: supplier lettering, details of the contents and warning markings. The sheet keeps to ordinary commercial drums from the Second World War right up to the Cold War period, so one purchase covers dioramas from several eras.
The markings are intended for drums of about two hundred liters, that is for the most common size, which you will also find in accessory kits. The printing is in 1:35 scale.
A drum has a cylindrical shell with circumferential ribs, so apply the elements on the smaller areas between them, not across them. Paint the surface first and give it a coat of gloss varnish. Separate the elements with a sharp blade close to the print and check the application procedure in the instructions enclosed with the sheet; use a decal softener only where the instructions allow it. Only once it has dried and been varnished should you add rust, spill marks and dented edges, so that the markings read as part of worn metal.
The set is for builders of dioramas and rear-area scenes who are missing exactly the small things that lend a scene credibility. This is a decal sheet; the drums, a model and the paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
