An ornamental grille in 1:35 scale as a separate accessory for building dioramas. The fourth pattern in the range of ornamental grilles.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ornamental grilles were ordinary equipment on town houses, garden walls, entrances and courtyards. On a diorama they do a lot of work for very little room: from the pattern of the grille the viewer can tell whether the scene is set at a grand house or at an ordinary farm building. This part carries the pattern listed fourth in the range and is made in 1:35 scale, that is, the size in which most dioramas with military vehicles and figures are built.
This is a separate scenic item, not a kit. Its use is not tied to one particular subject or to one brand of models. The material of the part and the recommended glue are given on the box; they decide whether you reach for cyanoacrylate or for epoxy.
Wash the part in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent before painting and let it dry completely. Cut the excess material at the edges away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder carefully, so as not to damage the thin bars of the grillework. A proven painting sequence: a dark base, then, once it is dry, a light pass with a dry brush in a lighter shade so that the edges come up, and finally layers of rust and grime in the places where they would collect on a real grille too. Sink the grille into the groundwork only once the terrain around it is finished.
It suits modelers who build urban or rural scenes in 1:35 scale and want to fill them out with an item that is not to be found in kits. The paints, glue, base and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
