This is a universal photo-etched set of miniature padlocks in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Hauler. It is not a model or a vehicle kit but a fine accessory with which you bring boxes, chests, stowage bin lids, storeroom doors or the fittings of a diorama to life. The parts are made of thin brass sheet and capture the shape of period padlocks faithfully.
The padlocks suit the lockable bins on the fenders and beds of trucks and combat vehicles, tool boxes, barrels and cases in figure scenes and buildings in a diorama. A small but striking detail that draws the eye at once in a photograph of the model.
Cut the parts carefully off the brass fret, bend any sections along the engraved lines and glue them on with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer so that the paint holds well. A final accent with a wash and a light rust patina works well.
This is a photo-etched accessory, not a model in its own right. The kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
