The S-350E Vityaz is a Russian surface-to-air missile system of a more recent generation. The launcher listed under the designation 50P6E is a self-propelled vehicle on a wheeled chassis that carries vertically stowed transport and launch containers with 9M96 guided missiles. The raised containers give the model an unusual silhouette and they are the most visible part of it.
This is a masking set for painting a model in 1:35 scale, aimed at the parts of the launcher and the 9M96 missiles. The masks are cut to shape, so the boundaries between shades do not have to be laboriously cut from tape on the part itself and the line comes out sharp and evenly wide. The exact extent of the set and the recommended order of the shades are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before you stick them on, the surface must be smooth, degreased and completely dry. Lay the mask down, press the edges with a toothpick and only then spray. Apply the paint in several thin coats perpendicular to the surface; an angled spray gets under the edge of the mask easily and the edge blurs. Take the mask off shortly after the coat has dried, with tweezers and a pull at an angle to the side. On long straight parts such as the missile containers, check that the mask has seated against the light so that the line is not wavy.
