A German infantryman in a camouflage coverall, pose number 2, 1:35 from PANZER ART follows on from the first figure of the same theme with a different posture.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second figure of the pair that PANZER ART devoted to German soldiers employed at close range against tanks. The figure wears a one-piece camouflage coverall and his posture differs from the first pose, so both figures can be stood side by side without the scene coming across as doubled. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary kits of military equipment.
Employment against tanks at short range came into question where the defense had cover and a view of the approaching vehicle: on the edges of villages, among ruins or in woodland growth. Such an episode lasted tens of seconds and what decided it was cover and timing, not firepower. It is precisely this moment of tension that modelers like to capture in a diorama. Models of damaged equipment tell a more rounded story with such a figure.
A camouflaged coverall looks better when the pattern is laid out irregularly and does not follow the seams. Apply a lighter base first and add the patches gradually, until the area starts to come across as busy. Leave the face with more pronounced shadows, so that it is not lost under the rim of the helmet. Paint the gear only after the coverall is finished, so that no needless mess is carried into the pattern.
