It is not a kit or a photo-etched set but an add-on for a model already built. The elements are 3D printed, colored in production and carried on decal paper, so they are transferred just like a conventional decal but have real depth. Instrument panels, control panels and small features of the cab thus look three-dimensional once seated, without your having to paint them or assemble them from photo-etch. The set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.
How the set is used
Cut the element out of the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for a moment and slide it into place. The surface under it has to be smooth and glossy: the element has no adhesive layer of its own and will not hold on a flat surface. Once the position is adjusted, blot up the water and let it dry without handling.
Thicker three-dimensional decals need more time both to release from the backing paper and to dry. Do not use a decal softener or setter; the chemistry will attack the printed resin and spoil the element. Paint the surface in a dark shade beforehand, so that no bare plastic shows through anywhere, and finally blend the finished interior with a thin coat of flat varnish. A smaller version of the same set for the same vehicle also exists, if a narrower scope is enough for you.
