1:35 Floor - tiles, red and white is a diorama accessory for rendering a tiled floor in 1:35 scale. The red and white pattern suits interior and urban scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale will create a tiled floor with a regular red and white pattern. It is not a kit or a finished scene but a surface element on which the interior then comes about: a workshop, a shop, an entrance hall, a kitchen or a damaged building. The material of the accessory and its dimensions are not stated here, so check these details before buying.
In an interior diorama the floor tends to be the largest continuous area and it decides the overall impression. The regular grid of tiles leads the viewer's eye into the depth of the scene and at the same time tells the scale: from the size of the tiles it is immediately clear how large a figure or a vehicle is. The red and white combination is typical of the terracotta and ceramic floors of residential and public buildings, so it suits European scenes and more civilian subjects than purely industrial surfaces.
Level the base, because every unevenness shows at once on the regular pattern. Lay the accessory down dry first, trim it to the footprint of the scene and only then glue it; hide the joints under a wall, furniture or rubble. Weathering is essential on tiling: a dark wash runs into the joints and separates the individual tiles, fine dust around the edges of the room suggests the corners nobody sweeps, and a lightly abraded or conversely glossy band in the middle creates a walkway. Red surfaces weather rewardingly, but do not overdo the brown shades, so that the pattern does not go gray and merge.
The accessory is supplied without further scenic material. Paints, glue, figures and vehicles are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
