This figure in 1:35 scale captures a member of the patrol service of the Police of the Czech Republic as the year 1992 defines him. In a collection it belongs among the recent subjects that appear in this scale only rarely; most of the 1:35 range aims at older military periods.
For a modeler the start of the 1990s is a sharply bounded period. The force already had a new name and new markings, while the cut of the tunic, the cap and the belt equipment still followed on from older habits. It is precisely this combination that makes the figure an easily recognizable Czech subject that does not overlap with any army figure in a display case.
Ideal is a scene with a car of the 1990s, a housing estate street, a barrier or the entrance to a building. The figure creates a story on its own even on a small base the size of a palm, because a viewer recognizes at once both the period and the service in question.
The basis is a medium blue-gray tone, which will take a fine lightening on the shoulders and on the upper part of the cap. The patches and badges are painted with a thin brush at the very end, so that they are not lost under a glaze. The trousers will benefit from a sharper shadow in the fold at the knee; leave the footwear in matte black with a hint of dust on the edge of the sole.
