A fence with pointed tops is one of the commonest kinds of fencing around gardens, rural buildings and yards. On a diorama it marks out a plot, separates public space from private and hides the boundary of the base. The viewer judges the size of the figures and the vehicles from the height of the fence at once, so the scene gets its scale before there is time to look at the main motif.
A board fence in 1:35 scale with a pointed top edge. Check the overall length, the number of parts and the material against the manufacturer's part number PL3-014 before ordering; the choice of glue and tools follows from the material.
Try the layout dry and run the fence with slight irregularity; one bay set a little out of true and one leaning board look more credible than a perfect row. Shorten it with a tool suited to the given material and sand the edge after cutting. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Build the painting on a wood base, apply a dark glaze into the gaps between the boards and bring out the edges and the points with a lighter tone from a dry brush; they are what wears the most in use. At the foot of the fence add an earth shade or pigment, so that the fence does not look as though it were set on the surface.
The base, the terrain compounds, the vegetation, the figures, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
