Among the creatures of the game Zone the Pseudogiant is one of the most conspicuous: a bulky body rests on disproportionately strong limbs, and the movement of such a mass is the main reason why players remember it. The figure is supplied by the Ukrainian brand Spalah, and the 1:35 scale stands directly in the name.
Unlike human figures, the Pseudogiant needs no context to hold the attention - on its own it carries the scale of the whole scene. If you put a smaller figure next to it, tension arises at once and the viewer grasps the ratio of sizes without a single caption. It works well among crumbling concrete buildings, overgrown railroad tracks and industrial ruins, that is where the game original lets its creatures dwell.
Skin of this kind calls for a different approach from a uniform. Start with a middle tone, let a thin paint run as shadow into all the hollows and let it flow by itself. Lay the highlights on with a dry brush only on the highest places, otherwise the surface loses its volume. A wet look is managed with gloss varnish applied in spots around the maw and in the folds; leave the rest semi-matte and add earthy pigments from below.
