Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. II light tank in the Ausf. B version, completed by a small fuel trailer. IBG models has gradually covered the whole early Panzer II family, and this package adds to it precisely the trailer that appeared with the early machines in period photographs. The result is an interesting pair for a cabinet and a ready basis for a small scene.
The Pz.Kpfw. II was a light tank with a crew of three, armed with a 2 cm KwK 30 gun with a barrel length of 55 calibers and a coaxial MG 34 machine gun. The Ausf. B version was among the first forms in series production and differed from the pre-production machines, among other things, in thicker frontal armor and reworked running gear. Neither the armor nor the armament was enough for a fight with armored vehicles, yet Panzer IIs made up a numerous part of the German tank units in Poland in 1939 and in France in 1940 and proved themselves above all as reconnaissance and training machines. Small fuel trailers helped deal with their short range.
Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks before the parts adjoining them make access impossible. Early German machines carried a dark gray camouflage, which takes well to a lighter filter, a dark wash into the recesses and a dry brush on the edges. The trailer will take heavier weathering than the tank - it is low to the ground and caught dust and mud alike. Apply the pigments right at the end, once the surface has been flattened.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
