An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. E Tiger I heavy tank in mid production in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model. This is a demanding boxing, 2in1: the model can be built as a standard closed tank, or with cutaway parts that reveal the complete interior, that is the engine, the transmission, the fighting compartment and the ammunition stowage. The package also holds workable, that is movable, tracks.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War, feared for its 8.8 cm gun and its heavy armor. Mid production vehicles fall roughly in 1943 and carry details typical of that period, for example revised road wheels and the absence of the wading equipment of the early vehicles. The Tiger I had a great psychological and tactical effect even though it was demanding to build and was committed in relatively small numbers.
Because of the complete interior, work from the back forward: first the engine, the transmission and the inside of the hull, paint and weather them before closing it up, and with the cutaway version plan which walls will stay open. Assemble the workable tracks patiently. For the later German camouflage an airbrush and shade modulation suit well; finish the outside with washes and with dust and mud pigments, and the interior with muted shades and gentle wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
