1:35 Radiator Type I With 15 Columns (2pcs)

A sectional radiator of fifteen sections

A diorama accessory in 1:35 scale from the Dynamo-Models range. According to the name it is a heating unit of the first type with fifteen sections, and the figure of two pieces is likewise taken from the name. The name does not specify the material or the dimensions of the finished part. It is interior furnishing; it does not attach to a vehicle or an aircraft model.

Where the radiator belongs

Sectional heating units appeared in offices, barracks, station halls and factories from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and still serve in many buildings today. In a scene it is an element that settles an interior at once, whether it stands under a window, by an exposed wall or among the rubble of a living room. In larger halls the heating units were placed under the windows, where they offset the cold air from the glass.

Paintwork and signs of age

Cream, white or silvery paint is the most common. In a neglected space, flaked patches and rust around the joints suit it well. A dark wash between the individual sections, where dust collects, works well, along with fine vertical traces of leaking water. The pipes running to the wall can be added from wire of a suitable diameter. Above the unit it is worth suggesting the darker mark on the wall left over the years by rising warm air.
