Raubtierfütterung is a set of two unpainted resin figures of a tank crew at a meal, 1:35 scale, the manufacturer Bravo 6. The figures sit on jerrycans with mess tins in their hands and form a compact genre scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two figures of a German tank crew of the Second World War in 1:35 scale, cast in modeling resin. The castings are supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is not a kit of a vehicle but an aftermarket accessory intended for a diorama or as a scene on its own on a small base. The subject derives from a period photograph and the author of the sculptural original is the founder of the brand.
The composition captures a pair of tank crewmen at a meal: the figures sit on jerrycans and hold mess tins and spoons in their hands. It is therefore a quiet, non-combat situation from the rear. For a modeler it is a very rewarding scene, because seated figures have naturally legible folds of clothing, follow on from each other and the composition takes up little room. The brand Bravo 6 is valued for natural faces and fine detail, which shows most with seated figures whose heads are lowered.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the release agent from the mold is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, level the surface and do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. Glue the small parts, such as the hands and the utensils, with cyanoacrylate super glue and try them out dry first, so that the angle of the grip fits. After a thin primer, paint the uniforms with matte acrylics with shading in the folds and lightening on the knees and the shoulders. Set the metal mess tins and the jerrycans apart with a dark shade with a discreet sheen and fine scrapes on the edges. Build the faces up by layering glazes. Finally unify the surface with a matte varnish and dust the lower parts of the clothing and the boots with pigments.
The set is supplied as unassembled and unpainted resin castings. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
