This resin detail set from PANZER ART contains road wheels for the Soviet IS-1 and IS-2 heavy tanks and the ISU-152 self-propelled gun. The castings replace the plastic wheels of a base kit and offer crisper cast detail. It is not a model of the whole vehicle but an accessory for detailing.
IS (Iosif Stalin) was a range of Soviet heavy tanks deployed at the end of the Second World War; the IS-2 carried a massive 122 mm gun. The heavy ISU-152 self-propelled gun, armed with a 152 mm howitzer, was built on the same chassis. All these vehicles shared the characteristic cast road wheels that the set captures faithfully.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut off the casting blocks. Bond the resin with super glue. The detail of the casting comes out once it is painted with a base coat, lightened and picked out with washes and with pigments on the running gear (mud, dust).
