A decal set for M113 carriers of South Korean units in Vietnam in 1:35 scale from DEF Model brings markings for finishing a completed model. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a decal set, not a vehicle model or a resin accessory. It holds markings for M113 armored personnel carriers operated by South Korean units during their deployment in Vietnam, including the motif known as Brave Tiger. The decals are applied to a finished and varnished model. The number of schemes and the list of lettering and numbers are stated on the box.
The M113 is an American tracked armored personnel carrier with an aluminum alloy hull, built from the early 1960s and used by many armies around the world. The South Korean ground forces operated it in Vietnam within their contingents; the vehicles carried their own tactical markings, different from the American ones, and that is exactly what this set addresses.
Apply the decals only over a gloss clear coat, so that no air is trapped under the film and no matte edge appears. Cut the motif out as closely as possible, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds only and let it rest on paper until it starts to slide. Use a decal softener and a fixer where the decal goes; on riveted and uneven surfaces apply a stronger softener and press the decal down with a cotton swab. Once dry, overcoat the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish to match the look of the vehicle, and only then go on with washes and pigments.
This is a decal set. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
