Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern Russian Typhoon-K armored car in 1:35 scale from the maker Zvezda. The model captures the characteristic tall angular shape of the hull, the 6x6 layout and the sturdy running gear. The 1:35 scale is among the most widespread ones for military vehicles, so add-on equipment and figures are easy to obtain for the model.
The Typhoon-K is a wheeled armored vehicle built on a KAMAZ chassis and belongs to the category of vehicles resistant to mines and improvised charges. The design rests on a reinforced hull floor, a high-set crew compartment and seats attached to the structure instead of to the floor, which reduces the shock transmitted by a blast under the vehicle. The vehicle is intended to carry a crew and materiel and exists in several standards differing in their body and armament.
With vehicles of this type it pays to build and paint the running gear and any interior before the hull is closed up. The large flat surfaces of the hull will appreciate a good base color and airbrush spraying, because any unevenness shows on them. Leave the tires in a matte shade and set them apart from the body. The final weathering consists of a dark wash in the pressings and the gaps, a fine accent on the edges and dust pigments on the lower areas and around the wheels. It is a good idea to mask the glazing before spraying rather than gluing it in at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
