The K-4386 Typhoon-VDV is a Russian wheeled armored car whose designation refers to the airborne troops. It stands on off-road tires with a coarse tread, and these flex noticeably under the weight of the armored hull and spread out at the contact patch. It is exactly this detail that shows most on a finished model: a perfectly round wheel turns a heavy vehicle into a light toy, whereas a flexed tire gives it its weight back.
Replacement wheels for the model of the K-4386 Typhoon-VDV in 1:35 scale, with the tires made in a flexed shape. The KAMA designation in the name refers to the tread pattern. The wheels replace the parts from the kit; you cannot build a model of its own from them. The number of pieces in the package and the kit they are intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
If the parts are not made of polystyrene, ordinary cement for plastic models will not hold on them, so use super glue. Cut off the excess material and the production marks with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest down carefully, so that no flat spot is left in the rounded wall of the tire. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Watch two things when gluing: the flattened part of the tire has to point down toward the base, and all the wheels have to sit in one plane, or the vehicle will stand crooked in the display case. Do not paint the tire black; rubber goes gray in daylight, so a dark gray base looks more faithful. Then settle dust and dry earth into the tread, leave the paint darker on the sidewalls and wipe it toward a lighter tone on the crown of the tread.
A set of wheels is supplied. The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
