This is an aftermarket detailing set in photo-etched metal in 1:35 scale from the Korean brand Tetra Model Works. The set is not a standalone tank model but an accessory meant to be fitted to a matching plastic kit of the Russian T-90A tank. The photo-etched parts replace and supplement elements that are hard to mold in injection plastic at a realistic thickness. The set is meant for the Zvezda kit.
The T-90A is the modernized version of the Russian T-90 main battle tank, with a welded turret. It is armed with a 125 mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader and protected by a combination of armor, reactive armor and an active protection system. The vehicle has formed the backbone of Russian armored units since the turn of the millennium.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends along the etched score lines with a bending tool or two razor blades. Use super glue to bond metal to plastic and metal to metal. Degrease the metal and apply a primer for metal before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well. The set shows at its best once the panels are brought out with a wash and mud and dust pigments are applied.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
