An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet mobile anti-aircraft missile system 9K33 Osa (SA-8 Gecko in the NATO code) in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. It is a new tooling; according to the manufacturer the package contains rubber tires, photo-etched metal and rich decals. The system is rendered on its amphibious wheeled chassis with radars and missile launch containers.
The 9K33 Osa (SA-8 Gecko) is a Soviet mobile short-range anti-aircraft missile system intended for low altitudes. As one of the first it combined search and guidance radars together with the launchers on a single amphibious wheeled vehicle, so that it could find a target and conduct fire against it on its own. Thanks to its amphibious ability and its wheeled chassis it stood out for its mobility and it served with a number of armies all over the world.
Work with liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with super glue. First finish and paint the running gear and fit the rubber tires only after the hull has been painted. Prepare the radar faces and the launch containers as separate subassemblies. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; for the patina use dust pigments and discreet mud washes on the lower hull and the tires.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
