1:35 Russian tankmen Set 1 (5 fig.)

Russian tank crewmen in 1:35 scale, set number one

A set of figures of an armored vehicle crew for diorama scenes. The name gives five figures and the designation Set 1, that is the first of two parts offered alongside each other. The figures will serve with models of postwar and modern hardware that lack a human dimension. The group is designed as a whole, so you do not have to assemble figures from different sources and deal with differing styles.

Putting together a scene with a crew

A crew looks most natural where it really moved: in the turret hatch, on a fender, by the engine compartment or around the machine at a halt. Turn the figures different ways and let a relationship of gazes arise between them, otherwise the scene looks like a display row. If the machine has no open hatch, some of the figures will serve beside the vehicle during loading or a short briefing.

Painting the clothing and the gear

• Lay a dark base under the overalls and apply the lighter tone from above.
• Tell the leather and textile parts apart by sheen, not only by shade.
• Keep the headgear darker than the face, otherwise it will merge with it.
• Weather the footwear and the lower hem of the trousers with a dust pigment.
• Paint in the small details once the figures are seated in their places.

Intended for

Builders of military hardware in 1:35 who lack a crew for a finished machine, and collectors who put together larger scenes from several sets. The material, the height of the figures and the number of parts are not documented in the name and are therefore not stated here.
