The Maxim machine gun in 1:35 scale (Spalah) is a resin accessory for figures and dioramas. It is not a vehicle kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a small accessory for dioramas and for figures, not a kit of a piece of equipment. The Ukrainian brand Spalah prints its accessories by 3D technology from photopolymer resin and supplies them on print supports, unpainted. On a weapon as busy as the Maxim, with its cooling jacket and wheeled mount, printing in resin has the advantage over injection-molded plastic.
The Maxim machine gun is the first truly successful automatic machine gun to use the recoil of the barrel. The Russian and Soviet version for the 7.62 x 54 mm R cartridge is carried on a wheeled mount with a shield and is the most widespread form of the weapon in Eastern Europe. Its characteristic feature is the water cooling jacket around the barrel, which allowed the weapon to fire long bursts. The Maxim went through the First and the Second World War and remained in reserve and militia units for a considerable time afterwards.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, cut the supports off with a scalpel and sand the marks smooth with fine paper; protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After the primer give the weapon a dark green or a steel shade, pick out the cooling jacket with a slight sheen and suggest the rivets by drybrushing. The wheels of the mount and the bottom of the shield should be dusted, because the weapon is dragged along the ground.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
