A plastic kit of the German amphibious car VW Schwimmwagen Type 166 in 1:35 scale from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Tamiya captures the German amphibious off-road car VW Schwimmwagen Type 166 of the Second World War. The box contains plastic parts, a clear part for the windshield, a mesh for the intake covers and decals. The exact number of parts and marking schemes is stated in the enclosed instructions.
The Schwimmwagen (meaning floating car) was a light amphibious off-road car derived from the design of the Kubelwagen and thereby from the Volkswagen people's car. It was powered by an air-cooled four-cylinder engine of about 1.1 liters; on land it reached a speed of roughly 80 km/h, and on water it was driven by a folding propeller. German units used it in the Second World War for reconnaissance and liaison duties in terrain where water obstacles had to be crossed, and it became the most widely built amphibious car in history.
Finish and paint the interior, the engine compartment and the running parts before you close the body. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic and glue the clear windshield with a cement for clear parts. Apply a primer before the airbrush. The look of a field car is brought to life by accenting the details with a wash and by weathering with mud and dust effects applied with pigments to the lower part of the body and to the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
