1:35 Scottish piper+officer WW I brings, according to the name, a piper and an officer together in one resin set in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A two-figure set from Black Dog in which the name explicitly gives two figures: a bagpipe player and an officer. A pair is rewarding from the point of view of building a scene, because the two figures have an evident relationship and nothing else has to be bought for them. The castings are resin, and the 1:35 scale suits ordinary period hardware and terrain accessories alike.
A bagpipe player is rare in the modeling range and in a diorama he works as an immediately legible element. Scottish regiments used this instrument on marches and on ceremonial occasions, and its silhouette is so characteristic that even a viewer with no interest in the period will recognize the figure. The combination with a second, quietly standing figure gives the scene a contrast of movement and concentration.
The instrument tends to be cast separately or with very thin pipes that break off easily; support them with a finger when removing the casting blocks. Paint the pipes as dark wood with a hint of gloss, set the decorative rings apart in a light metal and keep the fabric cover of the bag in a muted tartan tone. Seat the figures dry beside each other before you glue them, so that they do not block each other's line of sight.
