An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light half-track tractor Sd.Kfz.11 (Leichter Zugkraftwagen 3t) in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. AFV Club is a respected maker of this type, with a good level of detail.
The Sd.Kfz.11 was a German light half-track tractor of the 3-ton class, used by the Wehrmacht throughout the Second World War. It served mainly as an artillery tractor for medium weapons, for example 10.5 cm howitzers, and as a transport and engineer vehicle. The combination of wheel steering at the front and tracked running gear at the rear gave it good cross-country performance. A number of special variants were built on its chassis. It was powered by a Maybach gasoline engine.
The most demanding part is the running gear and the tracks - assemble and paint them before you finish the superstructure. Glue the parts with a liquid cement for plastic and the fine parts and any photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush; depending on the period of service choose German gray (Panzergrau) or the later dark yellow. Weathering comes from a wash, from picking out the edges and from dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
