This is an extensive photo-etched set by Eduard, that is a collection of metal parts made by etching from thin sheet. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory meant to replace thicker plastic shapes with finer metal parts and to add details that will not fit into an injection mold. It belongs to the full photo-etched range, not to the smaller Zoom sets, so in its scope it aims at modelers who want to take a model all the way into detail.
The Sd.Kfz.251 was the basic German medium half-track carrier, which was built in many specialized versions during the war. The 251/18 version served as an artillery observation vehicle, that is as a mobile workplace for directing fire, with the corresponding equipment and signals gear. The Ausf.A version represents the earliest production form, with a more angular front to the hull and the characteristic vision ports that later versions gradually simplified.
Photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface; make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool or between two blades, so that the edges are sharp and straight. Stick to small drops of cyanoacrylate. Metal has none of the absorbency of plastic, so degrease the surface before painting and use a primer. Whether it is the pre-painted version is stated by the marking on the packaging of the set; rather expect to paint the whole of it yourself.
