A turned barrel with breech for the heavy sIG 33 infantry gun in 1:35 scale from the brand PANZER ART. An accessory for a part-built model, not a stand-alone kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name, this set from the brand PANZER ART holds a barrel with breech for the German heavy sIG 33 infantry gun. It is an accessory for a base kit, not a model of the weapon. The turned part replaces the plastic barrel, which on this subject is short and thick, so a parting seam and an unopened muzzle show on it especially conspicuously.
The sIG 33 is a German heavy infantry gun of 15 cm caliber from the Second World War period. It is notable for a very short barrel relative to its caliber and for a massive breech. Besides the towed version it was also mounted on self-propelled carriages built on the chassis of light tanks, so the set finds use on models of artillery as well as on self-propelled versions and in diorama groups.
Cut the plastic barrel off at the cradle and level the mating surface carefully; on a short barrel every deviation from the centerline shows at once. Degrease the parts before gluing and use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting. The breech stands out when you go over it with a dry brush after the base shade and bring the controls out with a dark wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
