The decal set is devoted to one tank and one side of the conflict: the Soviet light tank T-26 in its m/1933 version in Republican service during the Spanish Civil War. It is pure markings for a finished model, not a kit. It is precisely in the Spanish war that markings tend to be the hardest element to track down, because they differed from unit to unit.
The T-26 came about in the Soviet Union from a British Vickers vehicle taken over under license, and in the m/1933 version it received a single turret with a 45 mm gun. That made it one of the best-armed light tanks in the world in the middle of the 1930s, because most machines of the day had only machine guns or a small cannon. The T-26s reached Spain as a Soviet delivery to the Republican side and first went into action in the autumn of 1936 defending the approaches to Madrid. It turned out that their gun dealt easily with the opponent's light tanks, but that their thin armor stood up neither to artillery nor to the anti-tank weapons that made their mark for the first time in Spain.
The Spanish battlefields are associated with dry, parched country, so the vehicles carried a heavy layer of dust. Apply the markings therefore before you start on the dust weathering, and let part of their edges disappear under it. Apply them onto a locally varnished gloss patch, not over the whole model, so that the matte surface is kept. Run the cuts close to the design and once it has dried go over the edge with a fine brush loaded with the base shade.
