Responsibility details are not available.
This set of Star Decals offers the historical markings of Panther tanks with the 9. SS-Hohenstaufen unit in the period of the fighting in France and in Belgium. According to the name it concerns the Ausf A and Ausf G versions, that is two successive production forms. The description is purely factual and serves modelers as a basis for marking a build accurately to the period.
The Panther was among the medium tanks with a long-barreled 75 mm gun and sloping frontal armor. The Ausf A version is told, among other things, by the cast commander's cupola and the ball mount for the machine gun in the front plate of the hull, while the later Ausf G has one-piece hull sides without the driver's vision port and a number of simplifications forced by production. Both versions commonly occurred side by side with the units, so treating them together in one set matches the reality of the battlefield. The fighting in France and in Belgium falls in 1944.
The Panther has large continuous areas on both the hull sides and the turret, on which a decal settles easily; watch out at the seams and gaps between armor plates. Level the base with gloss varnish, seat the decal and press the film down so that no air bubble is left anywhere. Once it has dried, matte the area down and give the markings a slight patina, so that they do not look freshly applied.
