The resin detail set brings road wheels of the characteristic Stalingrad type, of the kind fitted to the early versions of the Soviet T-34 tank. The parts carry faithful relief of the simplified pressed disc with no rubber tire band. It is an accessory, not a kit of the whole vehicle.

The real subject

The T-34 was a Soviet medium tank of the Second World War. During the war various types of road wheel were used because of the shortage of raw materials; the all-steel wheels of the Stalingrad type came about in a period of scarcity of rubber and are a typical mark of the early machines.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the wheels, cut the casting blocks away and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Spray the base with a primer. Complement the Soviet green with metal wear on the tire bands and dust pigments on the lower areas of the running gear.
