StuG III G upper hull and gun barrel with hessian tape 1:35 is a resin accessory set from PANZER ART for models of the StuG III Ausf. G assault gun. It faithfully renders the improvised camouflage of the gun barrel and the fighting compartment with coarse hessian tape.

This is a resin detail set, not a model on its own. It replaces the upper hull and the gun barrel on a kit of the StuG III Ausf. G assault gun and adds to the surface the hessian tape (coarse fabric) that crews used as improvised camouflage and as protection against attached charges. The casting captures the fine relief of the fabric, the welds and the riveted details of the fighting superstructure.
The Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G was the most widespread version of the German assault gun of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. It served both as infantry support and as an effective tank destroyer with its long 7.5 cm gun. In the field, crews often covered the superstructure and the gun mantlet with fabric in order to break up the outline of the vehicle.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully cut the casting blocks away and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The hessian tape stands out with a dry brush and with dark washes that bring out the texture of the fabric; on the metal surfaces, pigments for dust and mud effects work well.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
