A plastic kit of the German Sturmgeschütz III Ausf.G assault gun from Tamiya in 1:35 scale. The model captures the early Ausf.G version with its low silhouette, the fighting superstructure on the chassis of the Panzer III tank and Schürzen side armor. Figures are included in the box as well. The kit is meant to be glued and painted.
The StuG III was the most widespread German assault gun of the Second World War. The Ausf.G version was built from the end of 1942 and was notable for its low profile, which made the machine hard to hit. Its armament was a 7.5 cm gun and it became the backbone of German tank hunting as well as infantry support. Thanks to its relatively cheap and quick production, its low silhouette and its decent firepower, it was among the most numerous tracked machines of the Wehrmacht and it was used on all fronts until the end of the war.
Leave the Schürzen side armor aside for separate spraying and fit it only after the base coat on the hull. Assemble the running gear before closing the hull, and use thin cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush. The low superstructure offers a large area for camouflage; after the base color, complete the weathering with a wash and pigments. Concentrate the dust and mud on the running gear and the fenders; the enclosed figures will help give the model scale and life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
