This accessory from the Slovak brand Armour Models portrays the empty cases from the 85 mm gun, that is what is left in the fighting compartment of a tank after firing or is thrown out of it. According to the name the package holds sixteen pieces. It is not a kit or a part of the vehicle but a small accessory for a scene.
Empty cases are among the small things that give a diorama action and a sequence of events. Scattered around a firing position or stacked at the foot of a machine, they show at once that shooting went on here. Inside an open turret they fill out the picture of the crew's cramped workplace. It is exactly this type of accessory that separates a static display build from a scene a viewer stops at and starts imagining what has just happened.
A brass surface is usually most convincing when you do not leave it uniform. Lay the base in a warm metallic shade, then let a darker accent flow into the recesses and finally polish the high points with a light pass. The mouth of the case and the area around the base take darkening from the propellant gases. If you simply scatter loose pieces on the ground, fix them with a drop of binder and add a dusty touch so that they blend with the base.
