An injection-molded plastic kit of the T-72M main battle tank in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. It is an extensive, detailed kit with a large number of parts, photo-etched parts, individual link tracks and metal cables. The T-72M is the export version of the Soviet T-72, widespread in the armies of a number of countries including the former Czechoslovakia.
The T-72 is a Soviet main battle tank of the second postwar generation whose production began in 1970; it is among the most widespread tanks of the postwar era, second only to the T-54/55 family. The export T-72M corresponds roughly to the T-72A type but without composite armor, which gives it a lower weight. It carries a 125 mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader and the low silhouette typical of the Soviet school of design.
Finish and paint the running gear, the wheels and the lower hull before closing it up. Assemble the individual link tracks patiently so that they sag naturally; bend the photo-etched parts over a metal ruler and seat the cables according to their clamps. An airbrush suits a single-color or three-color finish; suggest the wear with rubbed edges, a dark wash in the details and dust and mud pigments on the running gear. Do not overdo the rust on a tank in service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
