A set of figures in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART with the subject of an ambush on an armored vehicle. The word Set in the name is a distinguishing detail: the manufacturer also lists the same figures separately under the designations number 1 and number 2, while this set joins them in one package. If you are building a scene in which several figures are to appear at once, the set is the more practical choice and brings them together in one package.
An ambush was among the typical ways in which infantry attacked armored vehicles in terrain that deprived a vehicle of both view and maneuver. It is precisely with this subject that a group of figures makes sense: the story arises from how they are placed in relation to the vehicle and from where the terrain gives them cover. The scene suits enclosed surroundings, that is buildings, a forest track, a ditch or the shelter of a ruined wall. The name states neither the army, the period nor the armament, so you can choose a vehicle as you like; check the figures' allegiance against the illustration on the packaging, though, not against the name.
Plan the composition first: stand the figures dry beside the model of the vehicle and beside the terrain features, check the lines of sight and the spacing, and only then glue. Choose the glue according to the contents of the package. Paint over primer and vary the shade of the uniforms and the degree of dirt slightly between the figures, so that the group does not look mass-produced. Leave the faces for last, unify the surface at the end with matte varnish and carry the dust from the base onto the boots and the lower part of the trousers as well.
