An accessory set with the German Tellermine 35 plate mine in the steel version, in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but a small scenic object — a mine stacked on a vehicle bed, stowed in a box, carried by an engineer or set into the terrain of a base.
The Tellermine is a German antitank mine of the Second World War whose name refers to its flat plate shape. The version designated T.Mi. 35 (St) had a steel body, and the letters St in the designation refer precisely to that material. The body is a low cylinder with a lid, a pressure plate with the igniter sits in the middle and a carrying handle is usually fitted at the side. The series continued with further types — Tellermine 29, 42 and 43 — which differ mainly in the shape of the lid and in the form of the igniter. The mines were carried in boxes and often appear stacked on armored vehicles as well, which makes them a rewarding accessory for vehicle models.
Choose the glue according to the material of the parts in the set: solvent cement for plastic, cyanoacrylate for resin and metal. Flat parts deform easily, so support them on a flat surface when sanding. For color a dark gray or dark yellow will do; the surface matters more: the plate lid looks better with fine wear along the edges applied with a dry brush, and the gap between the lid and the body deserves a thin wash. An earthy pigment on the underside will suggest contact with the terrain. When you stack the mines on top of each other, make sure the stacks are not mathematically regular.
The set is supplied unpainted and is not a model on its own. Glue, paints, figures and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
