A set of photo-etched parts in 1:35 scale from Tamiya, intended to improve the model of the Tiger I heavy tank. This is not a model of the tank, but a detail set that replaces the plastic grilles on the engine deck with fine photo-etched metal parts. The thin metal captures the pierced cooling grilles more faithfully and gives the rear of the tank a realistic, fine look that plastic parts cannot achieve.
The photo-etched parts reproduce the grilles on the engine deck and the related protective elements; the set can also be used for the gun sights of the anti-aircraft machine gun on other variants. It is intended as an accessory for the Tiger I kit from Tamiya, replacing the corresponding plastic grilles with a more faithful metal version.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them over the edge of a ruler or in a photo-etch bending tool. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer so that the paint holds.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a complete model. The kit of the tank, glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
