This is not a model of equipment but a building element for dioramas: a window in two sections in 1:35 scale. The Ukrainian brand Spalah prints these add-ons by 3D technology from photopolymer resin and supplies them on print supports, unpainted. On a window it is the thin frame and the bars that decide the result, and those are precisely the parts that injection-molded plastic makes needlessly thick.
A window is the most rewarding element of a building in a diorama. It lets light inside, so the interior is visible, and at the same time it allows you to suggest what has happened in the scene: cracked panes, taped-up glass, a missing section, sandbags on the sill. Windows also set the character of a house, because the division of the sections differs between periods and countries. The element combines well with doors and furniture from the same line.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, cut them off the supports and sand the marks down with fine paper; protect your breathing while sanding. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the frame before you set the glazing in. Cut the glass out of thin clear film and glue it in last, so that it does not get fogged; suggest a crack with a fine scribed line from the back. On the frame, flaking paint belongs, and dust on the sill, because a window is the most heavily weathered part of a facade.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The glazing, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
