A model of the Russian 2S41 Drok 82 mm self-propelled mortar on the armored Kamaz K-4386 Typhoon-VDV chassis in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Drok, with the service designation 2S41, is a self-propelled mortar built on the armored Kamaz K-4386 car of the Typhoon family, in the version for the airborne troops. The chassis is four-wheeled, with fully sprung axles and an armored cab resistant to fragments and to a blast under the vehicle. On the bed sits a rotating turret with an 82 mm mortar, thanks to which the crew can fire without getting out and can drive away as soon as the rounds have landed, which with mortars is crucial: a static position is quickly pinpointed by the enemy. It came about as an answer to the need for light fire support that moves as fast as the unit it supports.
The 1:35 scale is the home scale for modern armored vehicles, so the model fits well into a collection of other current equipment and into a diorama.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off, and choose the glue to suit the material of the parts. Wash and degrease the model before painting. Modern Russian equipment tends to be in a uniform green shade, so the shading of the surfaces decides the result: a lighter center on the large panels, a darker wash into the panel lines and a fine dust on the underside of the vehicle. Leave the tires matte and dusty, and fit the cab glazing only after painting. The flattening of a tire, if it is suggested on the parts, belongs at the bottom, against the ground.
For modelers of modern military equipment in 1:35 scale and for collectors who follow current armored cars. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
