Laser-cut model foliage from the manufacturer Model Scene in a recommended scale of 1:35. It is not a finished tree and not a kit — it is a loose scenery material. The Universal designation means a generic leaf shape with no tie to a particular species, while the extra autumn colors version means a more varied mix of autumn tones: yellow, ocher, brown, rusty and fading green.
A universal leaf commits a scene to nothing — you do not have to worry about whether the kind of foliage matches the tree standing above it. Combined with a varied autumn mix, the result is a material that suits the vast majority of autumn dioramas and can be used in quantity as a bulk base. A particular species then only has to be added where the scene is to read up close.
Sprinkle it through a fine sieve and fix it with thinned PVA glue or matte medium from a sprayer. Build up layers: a darker layer that fell earlier at the bottom, lighter fresh leaves on top. Litter is not even — along walls, at curbs and in sheltered spots it naturally thickens. Lay individual leaves in exposed spots with tweezers and glue them with a tiny amount of cyanoacrylate.
