1:35 US Army Inf (8) - Get on Line

Bravo 6 1:35 US Army Inf. (8) - Get on Line

The eighth volume of the figure series of American infantry from the manufacturer Bravo 6 in 1:35 scale. The package holds two figures cast in resin and a decal sheet. They are supplied unassembled and unpainted, so it is an accessory for models of equipment and for dioramas from the period of the war in Vietnam rather than a finished model.

Subject and workmanship

The pair of infantrymen is rendered in tropical field dress with a load-bearing harness and ammunition pouches, in poses built on a shared advance in an extended line. That is precisely why the set works well as the basis of a longer scene, which can be completed with further volumes of the series. The enclosed decals serve to add the small markings, which are hard to paint with a brush in this scale. The castings come divided into torso, head, limbs and small kit, so the turn of the figures can be matched to the terrain.

Building and painting tips

Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the release agent from the mold is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand the surfaces down wet and protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate super glue, fill the seams with putty and apply a thin primer. Build the uniform up from a base olive tone through a wash into the folds to lightened edges. Apply the decals onto a gloss base and once dry go over them with a matte varnish, so that they blend in with the cloth. Sparing dust suits the footwear and the trouser legs.
