An American army cameraman in 1:35 scale is a resin figure from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel complemented by photo-etched sheet and wire.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds the figure of an American army cameraman with filming equipment in 1:35 scale. The castings are of polyurethane resin and are complemented by photo-etched sheet and wire, from which the thin elements of the gear are made. The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted, that is as a classic resin set rather than as a finished painted model.
Army cameramen and photographers accompanied units right in the field, and their footage makes up most of the period visual material we know today. They wore ordinary field uniform complemented by bags for film stock and by the camera itself on a tripod or handheld. In a diorama a figure like this is rewarding precisely because it looks somewhere other than the rest: it gives the scene direction, explains the attention of the surrounding figures and reads more naturally than another armed soldier.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and fill the seams once assembled. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and after a primer has been sprayed on, painting follows. Build the uniform up from the base tone through shadows in the seams to highlights on the raised areas; the skin pays to be painted separately and in thin coats, whether in acrylic or in oil paints. Leave the camera and the metal parts dark with a discreet gloss, as they then stand out well among the matte cloth of the uniform.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
