The 1:35 US grenades + decals set is a modeling accessory, not a kit. Besides miniatures of American hand grenades in 1:35 scale, the name says it also contains decals with which the color bands and lettering are transferred onto the bodies. At this scale those are next to impossible to paint by hand, so the decals are the main difference from the basic version of the same set without them.
American hand grenades were carried hung on the gear, stored in boxes and crates, and in vehicle beds they tended to lie about loose. Color markings on the body and a brief line of lettering told the individual versions apart, so plain single-colored pieces look empty in a close-up. A decal solves that detail even on an area the size of a pinhead.
Separate the pieces with a sharp scalpel, sand any remnants of manufacture away and degrease the surface. Paint them while still on the carrier fret or stuck to a wooden stick. Apply the decals only onto a smooth gloss coat, or a silvery film will appear beneath them. Once they are in place use a softener so that the decal draws down onto the rounded body, blot the excess water away with the edge of a paper towel and finally even everything out with a flat clear coat. Fix the parts into the scene with cyanoacrylate glue.
The set is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue, a softener and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
